Jody Gerson blir ny ordförande och vd för Universal Music Publishing Group

I början av augusti meddelande ledningen för Universal Music Group, världens största musikföretag, att man utsett Jody Gerson, nuvarande Co-President på Sony/ATV Publishing, att bli ordförande och vd för Universal Music Publishing Group. Jody tillträder posten den 1 januari 2015 och kommer att rapportera till UMG:s ordförande och koncernchef Lucian Grainge. Hon ersätter den nuvarande ordföranden och vd:n för UMPG Zach Horowitz.

Vid tillkännagivandet sa Grainge: “Jody Gerson is simply one of the best music publishers in the business, and we are thrilled that she will be bringing her creativity, savvy and vast experience to UMPG.  Jody represents a new breed of music industry leadership, with a keen understanding of the evolving role of music publishers in the digital era and a track record of artist successes that places her among all-time greats.  I’m excited for what we will accomplish together.”

I sin roll som Co-President på Sony/ATV Publishing har Jody varit med och signat och/eller utvecklat låtskrivare och artister som till exempel Lady Gaga, Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, RedOne, Shakira och Pharrell Williams. Innan tiden på Sony/ATV signande hon bland andra Alica Keys (som 15-åring) och Norah Jones.

Martin Ingeström har blivit President för Universal Music Publishing i Sverige

I juli befordrades Martin Ingeström, då MD på Universal Music Publishing i Sverige, till President för UMP i Sverige och till Senior Vice President för UMP i Norden. Martin rapporterar nu direkt till Paul Connolly, President för UMP i Europa och UK.

Martin Ingeström är en erfaren musikförlagsprofil som började sin karriär på Chrysalis Music Publishing och Chrysalis Records 1980. 1993 startade han MCA Music Publishing Scandinavia och 1999 blev han vd för Universal Music Publishing Scandinavia. Efter sammanslagningen av MCA och Polygram utsågs han till MD för UMP i Sverige och VP för UMP i Norden, där han har suttit ända fram till idag.
